Patente de Invenção: "PROCESSO DE DETECÇÃO DE UM SÍTIO DE INFECÇÃO OU DE INFLAMAÇÃO EM UM INDIVÍDUO; PEPTÍDIO QUIMIOTÁTICO MARCADO DETECTAVELMENTE; PREPARAÇÃO FARMACÊUTICA DO PEPTÍDIO QUIMIOTÁTICO; E COMPOSIÇÃO TERAPÊUTICA". Esta invenção se refere a um processo de detecção de um sítio de infecção ou inflamação em um indivíduo por administração ao indivíduo de uma quantidade diagnosticamente ou terapeuticamente efetiva de peptídio quimiotático, terapêutica ou terapeuticamente conjugado, marcado detectavelmente, que se acumula substancialmente no sítio infectado ou inflamado, o dito peptídio quimiotático tendo a estrutura geral X - Y -Leu - Phe - [Z]~ n~ - W, em que X é um grupo protetor de amino, Y é um resíduo de aminoácido, Z é uma sequência espaçadora, n é 0 ou 1 e W é um substituinte de marcação ou de fixação.
