A presente invenção refere-se à preparação de complexos de platina (IV) de fórmula geral mediante carboxilação de um composto de platina (IV) apropriado. Refere-se ainda à preparação de composições farmacêuticas que contêm os referidos complexos. Os complexos possuem actividade antitumor, particularmente quando administrados por via oral.
