A presente Patente de Invenção refere-se a um inseticida derivado das brácteas da planta Alpinia Purpurata, podendo ser utilizado como larvicida no combate às larvas em estágio L4 (machos e fêmeas) e também como deterrente no combate ao mosquito adulto do Aedes aegypti, mosquito transmissor da dengue, da dengue hemorrágica e da febre amarela, O inseticida pode ser apresentado em formulação líquida ou formulação sólida, em concentração do Óleo Essencial entre 0,0005% e 100% (massa por volume) e pela concentração do extrato aquoso entre 60% e 100% (volume por volume).
