"TRATA-SE A PRESENTE INVENÇÃO DE UM PROCEDIMENTO PARA A PREPARAÇÃO DE 2-CLORO-2 - DESOXIADE-NOSINA". O qual compreende a glicosilação de 2-cloro-6-aminopurina com 1-cloro-2-desoxi-3,5-di-O-p-toluil- -D-eritropentofuranosa. O processo se dá por primeiramente pela formação do sal de sódio de 2-cloro-6-aminopurina e permitindo que o sal de sódio reaja com 1-cloro-2-desoxi-3,5-di-O-p-toluil- -D-eritropentofuranosa na presença de um solvente polar moderado tal como acetona. O produto final cladribine, é produzido pela remoção de grupos de p-toluil através da ação de amônica metanólica ou metóxido de sódio metanólico.
