Abstract

Patente de Invenção: "FATOR 11 DE DIFERENCIAÇÃO DE CRESCIMENTO". É divulgado um animal não-humano transgênico das espécies selecionadas do grupo que consiste em aves, bovinos, ovinos e porcinos que possuem um transgene que resulta na interrupção da produção de elou da atividade do fator de diferenciação do crescimento 11 (GDF-11) integrado cromossomicamente nas células germinativas do animal. São também divulgados métodos para obtenção de tais animais e métodos de tratamento de animais, incluindo seres humanos, com anticorpos ou estruturas antisenso direcionados ao GDF-11. Os animais tratados desta forma são caracterizados por tecido muscular e tecido ósseo aumentados.
