Patente de Invenção: "GENE DE STREPTOMYCES AVERMITILIS QUE DIRIGE A PROPORÇÃO DE AVERMECTINAS B2:B1" . A presente invenção refere-se a moléculas polinucleotídicas que compreendem seqüências nucleotídicas que condificam um produto gene AveC, moléculas polinucleotídicas essas que podem ser usadas para alterarem a proporção ou quantidade de avermectinas da classe 2:1 produzidas em culturas de fermentação de S. avermitilis. A presente invenção refere-se ainda a vetores, células hospedeiras e cepas mutantes de S. avermitilis nas quais o gene AveC tenha sido inativado ou mutado de maneira a mudar a proporção ou quantidade de avermectinas da classe 2:1 produzidas.
