Patente de Invenção: "CIGARRO COM FUMAÇA DE RASTRO SECUNDÁRIO REDUZIDA". Cigarro (30) incluindo um elemento de inflamação (36) em contato com tabaco (40, 42) envolto por composto empacotador (38). O empacotador (38) é impermeável ao oxigênio fazendo com que o tabaco (40, 42) se extingua entre baforadas. O elemento de inflamação (36), entretanto, possui um tempo estático de queima maior do que o do tabaco (40, 42) e permanece queimando lentamente entre baforadas. Entre baforadas subsequentes, o elemento de inflamação (36) reacende o tabaco (40, 42). Uma ou mais perfurações oclusas (34) na camada de fora (38) mantém a uniformidade da combustão do tabaco (40, 42) e do elemento de inflamação (36).
