Um volante de direção para veículos motores que possui um cubo tubular (5) a ser conectado a um eixo de direção (10) proporcionadocom uma extremidade rosqueada (12) encaixada por uma porca de retenção axial (13). Para operar o travamento e destravamento da porca (13), um dispositivo de engrenagem sem-fim (15) é proporcionado, cuja engrenagem helicoidal (18) é integralmente formada no exterior da porca (13) e cujo parafuso sem-fim (19) é disposto transversalmente à porca (13) e pode ser acionado em rotação de forma lateral do volante de direção.
