Abstract
"FREIO A DISCO COM PISTÃO DE AJUSTE ACIONADO POR ENGRENAGEM". Um sistema de ajuste acionado por engrenagem ajusta a posição de um pistão de ajuste (28) e um disco de carga (30) em um freio a disco (20). Uma seção de engrenagem de ajuste (58) é montada para girar com o excêntrico (22) do sistema de freio a disco (20). Folga entre o excêntrico (22) e o setor de engrenagem dentada (58) permite alguma rotação do excêntrico (22) sem rotação correspondente da seção de engrenagem dentada (58). Dessa maneira, é provida folga entre o material de fricção (34) e o rotor do freio (36) em uma posição de ausência de frenagem. A conexão de engrenagem dentada prove um acionamento positivo para o sistema de ajute e também previsibilidade na quantidade de ajuste. Uma embreagem de torque excessivo (54) é posicionada na transmissão entre a seção de engrenagem dentada (58) e a uma engrenagem de ajuste (50). A conexão de torque excessivo garante que não haverá ajuste em excesso do pistão de ajuste.
