A invenção refere-se a esmaltes para fio compreendendo como ligantes poliesterimida e/ou poliamidaimida, os ligantes compreendendo como blocos monoméricos de estruturação polioxialquilenodiamina tendo grupos amino terminais. As polioxialquilenodiaminas são, de preferência, selecionadas do grupo de polioxietilenodiamina, polioxipropilenodiamina e polioxietilenopropilenodiamina. A invenção também abrange o uso dos esmaltes para fio para revestimento de fios de cobre, especialmente fios arredondados ou fios perfilados espessos.
