A invenção é um amortecedor tubular inflável (22) que impede e limita o ferimento do ocupante de um veículo a motor em uma colisão frontal e semifrontal. A invenção é um tubo trançado inflável (22) conectado abaixo do painel de instrumento do veículo por duas tiras (23) conectadas nas extremidades do tubo e a estrutura do veículo (24). Um gerador de gás (20) é conectado ao tubo (22) por um conduto de gás (21).
