Esta invenção está relacionada a novos derivados de alquilpolissacarídeo incluindo seus sais e composições que compreendem o mencionado alquilpolissacarídeo. Os derivados de alquilpolissacarídeo são de fórmula geral (I): R^ 1^-(OG)~ n~(X)~ m~ onde R^ 1^ é hidrogênio ou uma porção hidrófoba; G é uma radical sacarídeo; e X é um radical anidrido succínico; e n e m são independentemente selecionados de um valor médio que é entre 1 e 200.
