Abstract

Um avião de asa livre (100) VTOL/STOL compreendendo uma asa livre (110) tendo asas dos lados opostos de uma fuselagem (102) ligadas uma à outra respectivamente adjacentes a secções (117) centrais ou raizes fixas das asas fixadas na fuselagem (102) para livre rotação em torno de um eixo da envergadura (112). Superfícies horizontais e verticais da cauda (138, 140) são localizadas na extremidade traseira de um conjunto de lança (120) em ligação rotativa com a fuselagem (103). Um mecanismo de engrenagem (150) ou haste de parafuso (160) controlado pelo piloto ou operador de controle remoto seletivamente gira relativamente a fuselagem (102) em relação ao conjunto da lança da cauda (120) para permitir à fuselagem assumir uma configuração inclinada ou de nariz para cima para possibilitar o vôo VTOL/STOL.
