Abstract

Um recobrimento de barreira é formado sobre um artigo polimérico (B, C), como sobre a parte interna de um recipiente de termoplástico. Um gás oxidante (70) é convertido em um plasma em uma câmara de plasma (46) afastada da câmara de tratamento (32). As espécies oxidantes ativadas de plasma resultantes são impelidas até o interior (40) do recipiente. Um vapor reagente de organossilício (76) é impelido separadamente mas ao mesmo tempo até o interior (40) do recipiente de sorte que o vapor de organossilício e as espécies ativas oxidantes se misturam dentro do recipiente. É também aplicado um campo elétrico (42, 44) ao recipiente, de sorte os produtos de reação são depositados sob a influência do campo elétrico, para formar o recobrimento de barreira.
