Abstract
Um espaçador de segurança (24) é usado com uma trava em U (16) para proporcionar segurança adicional. A trava em U (16) inclui uma barra em forma de U (18) e um elemento de ligação (20). Em certas circunstâncias, os braços da trava em U (16) são suficientemente mais longos do que o objeto (10) que é travado de modo que um intervalo (22) entre o objeto (10) e o elemento de ligação (20) seja grande o suficiente para permitir que um ladrão introduza um macaco de tesoura entre os braços e quebre a trava. O espaçador de segurança (24) preenche substancialmente o intervalo para impedir a introdução de um macaco e é mantido no lugar pelo elemento de ligação (20). O espaçador de segurança (24) inclui preferivelmente dois cilindros ovais (26) ligados a extremidades opostas de uma barra metálica (28).
