Abstract
Um processo para facilitar a remoção de camadas e inclusões de óxido de ferro de material zirconífero, que compreende uma etapa na qual se submete o material zirconífero a um primeiro tratamento com um reagente básico, e submetendo depois o produto deste primeiro tratamento a um segundo tratamento com um ácido, o primeiro tratamento sendo conduzido sob condições efetivas, para melhorar o grau de remoção das camadas e inclusões de óxido de ferro, além daquelas obtidas pelo tratamento com ácido, sem o tratamento prévio com o reagente básico.
