Abstract
É composto de uma cabeça abafadora que possui um cone truncado interno, que além de abafar o fogo permite o fluxo contínuo dos fluidos na saída do poço. O funcionamento deste equipamento se realiza através de um braço acionado hidraulicamente. Esta cabeça abafadora descerá sob uma base formadora por 2 (dois) semi-cilindros, previamente colocados, unidos, ao redor do poço incendiado. Entre o cilindro-base e a cabeça abafadora forma-se, dentro de uma área determinada, câmara de abafamento, onde o fogo é extinguido.
