A invenção atual refere-se à composição de um catalisador sólido para produzir ésteres a partir de óleos vegetais, gordura animal ou a combinação deles em quaisquer porcentagens, utilizando-se catalisadores sólidos compostos de alcoóxido de metal alcalino e/ou metal alcalino terroso combinado com hidróxido de metal alcalino ou de metal alcalino terroso.
