Que se baseia no uso de um algoritmo no microprocessador do equipamento, cuja habilitação poderá ser feita na inicialização ou durante o funcionamento do equipamento, pelo pressionamento da chave liga-desliga, de forma que o sistema monitore o consumo do equipamento e, quando verificada a ausência de consumo, desligue-o da rede elétrica.
