Processo quimio-enzimático para preparar escitalopram. O presente invento descreve um processo para a preparaçâo de escitalopram e dos seus sais farmaceuticamente aceitáveis partindo de 5-cianoftalida por um processo que provê uma reação de desacilação enzimática enantioseletiva de um complexo de fórmula (IV) em que R representa um resíduo alquila C~1~-C~4~ ou um residuo arila, sob a ação de uma esterase de Aspergilius niger.
