Abstract
VARIEDADE DE TRAUSTOQUITRÍDEO -SCI PRODUTORA DE ÁCIDO DOCOSAEXAENÕICO (DHA). A invenção diz respeito à triagem de uma variedade não relatada de traustoquitrídeo - AVE7 que produz quantidades significativas de ácido docosaexaenóico (DHA) e que também acumula seus ácidos graxos intermediários respectivos além do DHA. Esse organismo tem sido isolado das águas paradas de Goa pelo método de iscas de pólen. O perfil dos ácidos graxos e as seqúências ribossômicas 1 8S de cada um desses organismos foi revelada, indicando sua filogenia molecular. O organismo em um estudo adicional poderá ter uma utilização bastante significativa na produção comercial de DHA.
