Usando eletrólitos aquosos contendo oxifluoretos ou fluoretos complexos tais como fluorozirconatos e fluorotitanatos, artigos de metal ferroso e artigos não-metálicos possuindo um primeiro revestimento contendo aluminio podem ser rapidamente ariodizados para formarem um segundo revestimento de superficie de proteção. Revestimentos brancos podem ser formados sobre os artigos utilizando corrente direta pulsada ou corrente alternada.
