TENSIONADOR LINEAR DE FORÇA DE TORÇÃO. A presente invenção refere-se a um tensionador linear (22, 122, 222, 322, 422, 522) acionado por uma entrada de torque é fornecido tendo uma base (24,124, 224, 324, 424, 524), um pinhão (26, 126, 226, 326) rotativamente montado na base, uma cremalheira (28, 128, 228, 329, 329) operativamente engatada com o pinhão, um braço (30,130, 230, 330, 331, 430, 530) deslizantemente montado na base (24,124, 224, 324, 424, 524) e acoplado à cremalheira (28, 128, 228, 328, 329) para movimento linear com a mesma, e uma polia (32, 132, 332, 333, 432, 532) rotativamente montada no braço (30, 130, 230, 330, 331, 430, 530) para engatar e tensionar um elemento de transmissão de energia associado tal como uma correia ou corrente. O tensionador (22, 122, 222, 322, 422, 522) ainda inclui um meio (40, 140, 240, 340, 440, 540, 42, 43) para aplicar uma força rotacional no pinhão (26, 126, 226, 326), que pode ser, por exemplo, uma mola de torção (40, 140, 240, 340,440, 540), um servomotor (42) ou uma bomba hidráulica (43).
