Um dispositivo de comunicação móvel (200) tem uma arquitetura de software (302) que inclui um ambiente operacional fechado (306). O ambiente operacional fechado é inacessível ao usuário do dispositivo de comunicação móvel, e ele inclui software para implementar uma função de reportes projetada para coletar certa informação de dentro do dispositivo de comunicação móvel, e transmiti-la para uma entidade fora do dispositivo de comunicaçao móvel, como um servidor (310).
