Um conjunto de vedação para vedar um espaço anular entre um tubo interno e um tubo externo em um oleoduto submarino de parede dupla, cujo conjunto de vedação compreende um membro anular (1) e dispositivos de bloqueio móveis (2, 3) e (a) sob condições operacionais normais está em uma posição nao vedante que permite a passagem de um gás através do conjunto de vedação; e (b) é acionável de uma posição não vedante para uma posição vedante em resposta à entrada de líquido no interior do dito espaço anular.
