É proporcionado um método para selecionar uma composição para cimentação para vedação de uma zona subterrânea penetrada por um furo de poço. O método envolve compreender, determinar de um grupo de composições para cimentação, composições para cimentação efetivas, sendo dadas condições sofridas durante a vida do poço, e estimando os parâmetros de risco para cada uma das composições para cimentação efetivas do grupo.
