O núcleo de camada única contém (i) um medicamento que não se transforme tendo uma solubilidade, por dose, inferior a cerca de 1 mL^ -1^, (ii) cerca de 2,0% até cerca de 20% em peso de uma hidroxietilcelulose tendo um peso molecular cuja média ponderada é de cerca de 300.000 até cerca de 2.000.000 e (iii) um agente osmótico.
