"SOL DE SÍLICA CONTENDO CARBONATO DE GUANIDINA". A invenção refere-se a uma sol de sílica finamente dividido, estável, parcialmente agregado com uma superfície BET de 100 até 1000 m^ 2^/g, e um teor de 0,05 até 15% em peso de íons guanidínio, a um processo para sua preparação por reação de um sol fresco com carbonato de guanidina, de preferência na presença de uma outra base, e ao emprego do sol de sílica na retenção de papel.
