Abstract
"APARELHO PARA CONECTAR UM VOLANTE DE VEÍCULO A UMA BARRA DE DIREÇÃO". Um aparelho (10) inclui uma barra de direção (12) que pode ser girada para girar as rodas direcionáveis do veículo. Um volante (14) possui um cubo (40) para conexão com uma extremidade axial (20) da barra de direção (12). O cubo (40) possui uma superfície afunilada (50) que define uma abertura (42) dentro da qual a extremidade axial (20) da barra de direção (12) se estende. Um mandril de aperto (60) possui uma superfície externa afunilada radialmente (64) engatável com a superfície afunilada (50) do cubo (40). O mandril de aperto (60) também possui uma superfície radialmente interna (62) engatável com a extremidade axial (20) da barra de direção (12). Um fixador (80) conecta o volante (14) à barra de direção (12). O fixador (80) aplica uma força ao mandril de aperto (60) para forçar a superfície afunilada radialmente externa (64) do mandril de aperto em engate com a superfície afunilada (50) que define a abertura (42) no cubo (40).
