Abstract
"COMPOSTOS DE BARBITÚRICOS NÃO-SEDATIVOS COMO AGENTES NEUROPROTETORES". Métodos de fornecimento de neuroproteção são descritos compreendendo administrar um composto de barbitúrico não-sedativo em uma quantidade suficiente para obter-se a neuroproteção em um indivíduo mamífero. Os compostos preferidos estão na família do ácido difenilbarbitúrico e análogos. Doses preferidas para um efeito neuroprotetor excedem a dosagem de um correspondente barbitúrico sedativo sem efeitos colaterais sedativos tais como anestesia e morte.
