Um processo supercrítico de oxidação executado em água é capaz de oxidar "orgânicos" em composições orgânicas de metal precioso tais como os catalisadores de metais preciosos heterogêneos (Pt/C) ou homogêneos e produzindo um óxido de metal precioso com alguns subprodutos e perdas pequenas de metal precioso.
