É apresentado um método de preparar uma tabela de cores que compreende as etapas de definir uma cor de referência, especificar uma gama de cores a partir da dita cor de referência, cada cor sendo espaçada por múltiplos inteiros de um valor de diferença de cor pré-selecionado de qualquer outra cor, a gama cobrindo o espaço de cor entre a cor de referência e alguma outra cor.
