Uma célula de combustível (7) que tem a capacidade de partida instantânea e pode aceitar energia recuperada tal como aquela da frenagem regenerativa por operação em sentido contrário como um eletrolisador. As células de partida imediata (7) possuem eficiência e disponibilidade de potência aumentadas e (voltagem e corrente mais elevadas) e um dramático melhoramento na temperatura de operação na faixa de cerca de -20 a 150 C.
