Trata-se de uma Plataforma Marítima destinada a exploração petrolífera em locais de grande profundidade, isto é, para lâminas d'água de até 2.000 metros. A Plataforma consiste em uma estrutura simétrica, construída em concreto armado e protendido, tendo um grande flutuante (1) no qual se acha engastadas 6 colunas (2) que vão sustentar o convés (6), onde se localizam todos os equipamentos e de onde vai se controlar toda a produção petrolífera.
