Em um método (100) para frear um veículo de múltiplas partes (200a), em particular um veículo comercial (200b), tendo um trator rebocador (210) e dois vagões (220a, 200b), cada um tendo um modulador de freio acionável eletricamente (225a, 225b), uma solicitação de frenagem (250) para frear o veículo (200a), em particular o veículo comercial (200b), é detectada (110). Usando-se a solicitação de frenagem (250), são determinados sinais de acionamento (226) para a acionamento com deslocamento de tempo dos moduladores de freio (225a, 225b) (120). Os sinais de acionamento (226) para o acionamento assíncrono dos moduladores de freio (225a, 225b) são emitidos (130).
