Máquina e método para trabalhar ou manusear placas ou chapas de metal, compreendendo um sistema de visão para obter imagens de pelo menos uma parte da chapa ou folha e uma unidade de processamento para realizar o reconhecimento de bordas. Em algumas modalidades, essa etapa é realizada por um algoritmo de Aprendizado Profundo (Deep Learning). Caso esta etapa de reconhecimento não seja satisfatória, o processador reprocessa a imagem usando meios de máscara que podem ser aplicados a pelo menos uma parte da imagem para identificar melhor a borda em relação ao fundo.
