É fornecido um processo para impressão por transferência de calor, que compreende imprimir eletrostaticamente uma composição de tinta eletrostática transparente (3) sobre um material de transferência (2), em que a composição de tinta eletrostática transparente compreende uma resina termoplástica; imprimir uma imagem (4) na composição de tinta eletrostática transparente; colocar em contato a imagem com um substrato alvo (1) sob condições tais que a resina termoplástica da composição de tinta eletrostática transparente é amolecida ou fundida, e separar o substrato alvo e o material de transferência, para deixar o substrato alvo tendo sobre o mesmo a imagem e uma camada de sobreposição da composição de tinta eletrostática transparente. Também é divulgado um tecido tendo uma imagem, a imagem tendo uma camada de sobreposição da composição de tinta eletrostática transparente.
