Abstract

A presente invenção refere-se aos artigos de segurança e métodos e sistemas para autenticar artigos de segurança usando uma pluralidade de estímulos. De acordo com uma modalidade, um artigo de segurança ilustrativo inclui um recurso incorporado, em que a ativação diferencial de materiais fosforescentes ou fluorescentes cria uma resposta legível por máquina através da presença simultânea de uma fonte de radiação eletromagnética e um ambiente de gás específico. Um detector detecta uma emissão espectral diferencial através do recurso de segurança que resulta da mudança no ambiente de gás. A emissão espectral pode ser comparada a uma assinatura emissiva esperada para determinar a autenticidade do artigo de segurança.
