Abstract
A presente invenção refere-se a uma composição e um método para a promoção do desenvolvimento neuronal funcional em pacientes pediátricos. A composição compreende em algumas modalidades até cerca de 7 g/100 Kcal de uma fonte de gordura ou lipídeo; até cerca de 5 g/100 Kcal de uma fonte de proteína; cerca de 3 mg/100 Kcal a cerca de 50 mg/100 Kcal de fosfatidiletanolamina; cerca de 0,15 mg/100 Kcal a cerca de 75 mg/100 Kcal de esfingomielina; e cerca de 5 mg/100 Kcal a cerca de 75 mg/100 Kcal de ácido docosaexaenóico. Os métodos compreendem, em algumas modalidades, a administração da composição anteriormente mencionada a um paciente pediátrico.
