About the company

Who is Target

Born in the United States, Target is a department store chain known for its red bullseye. In Brazil, the history of its brands began in 1976, when the company made its first filing with the INPI. For many Brazilians, it was a store known from travels: those returning from Orlando or New York would bring red bags and home products in their suitcases.

The approach to the Brazilian trademark office happened gradually. In 2010, Target filed in Brazil the brand Smith & Hawken; in 2011, Threshold and Spritz. In 2015, Room Essentials joined them, with the idea of a well-organized home at an affordable price.

The year 2017 was the busiest, with Project 62, Opalhouse and Hearth & Hand. Then came Sun Squad (2018) and Casaluna (2019). These are names that outline the modern and unpretentious home that Target helped popularize, from the bedroom to the kitchen.
