Johnson & Johnson nasceu nos Estados Unidos em 1886 e chegou ao Brasil em 1933. Em 1937, a companhia fez o primeiro depósito de marca no país. Nas décadas seguintes, JOHNSON & JOHNSON (1958) e JOHNSON'S (1965) se tornaram parte do banheiro das famílias: talco, xampu e algodão ganharam lugar na hora do banho dos bebês e na penteadeira das mães.
Nos hospitais, ETHICON acompanhou os cirurgiões desde 1949, enquanto a sigla J&J (1969) ficou conhecida nos curativos e materiais de saúde. Em 1992, JOHNSON & JOHNSON MEDICAL ampliou essa presença; quatro anos depois, JANSSEN-CILAG chegou às farmácias com medicamentos de prescrição.
Na área de visão, ACUVUE (1987) levou as lentes descartáveis ao consultório e à rotina. Em 2002, o ano com mais depósitos de marca na história da companhia no Brasil, VISTAKON e JNJ se somaram ao portfólio: lentes de contato no consultório e a assinatura da empresa em produtos que vão do banheiro ao hospital.
