About the company
Who is EMS
The history of EMS brands began in 1951, with the registration of CALADRYL, the bottle that sat in many household cabinets, ready to relieve the itching of bites and scratches. In 1965, the name EMS itself was registered, and the laboratory began putting its signature on medicines found in pharmacies across the country.
In the following years, the company added names that became habits. Energil, registered in 1983, gave rise to a family of vitamin C: Energil C Junior and Energil C Sport in 1996, Energil C Rose Hips in 1998. Novamed arrived in 1997, and Grupo EMS Sigma Pharma, in 2003, brought the family’s companies under one signature.
In 2016, the year with the highest activity of trademark filings, came Silk Protect, among other names. More recently, EMS Pet (2023) brought care to pets, and Grupo EMS and Academia EMS (2025) reinforced the signature. From the pharmacy counter to the medicine drawer, EMS continues in everyday Brazilian life.
