Abstract
''SISTEMA DE MONITORAÇÃO DE PEDESTRE'' Um sistema de monitoração de pedestre define uma série de feixes (12) de radiação eletromagnética, cada feixe (12) estendendo-se através de uma área alvo (14) substancialmente transversal à movimentação de pedestres (30) através da área alvo (14). Cada feixe (12) da série de feixes sendo espaçado em relação aos outros feixes na direção geral (D) de movimentação de pedestres através da área alvo (14), a série de feixes sendo localizada substancialmente horizontalmente a uma altura acima do piso da área alvo (14) de modo que os feixes sejam interrompidos pelas pernas dos pedestres (30) movendo-se através da área alvo (14). O sistema de monitoração incluindo meios para detectar reflexões de cada um dos feixes (12A-12N) e a localização transversal na qual o feixe (12A-12N) é interrompido, de modo a identificar um objeto movendo-se através da área alvo (14) e a direção de movimentação do objeto.
