Abstract
"CAUSTISIZAÇÃO BAYER APERFEIÇOADA". Processo aperfeiçoado para causticização de licores Bayer em refinaria de alumina, o processo incluindo as etapas de reagir cal com íons aluminato em um licor Bayer dentro de um reator primário sob condições controladas de baixa a moderada temperatura (entre 70-80 C) e agitação, para substancialmente formar somente espécie de hidrocalumita e íons hidroxil; e, um reator secundário onde a dita espécie de hidrocalumita formada é submetida ao aquecimento em contato com um licor Bayer sob condições controladas de maneira a causar a reação da espécie de hidrocalumita com o licor para formar carbonato de cálcio, íons aluminato e íons hidroxil, com o que um licor Bayer causticizado é obtido e onde a eficiência da utilização de cal é substancialmente aumentada e minimizadas as perdas de alumina.
