Patente de Invenção: "MÉTODO PARA AUMENTAR A RIGIDEZ E RESISTÊNCIA ÓSSEA E REDUZIR FRATURAS" . A invenção refere-se a um método para aumentar a rigidez e/ou tenacidade de osso e/ou reduzir a probabilidade e/ou severidade de fratura óssea por administração de um hormônio paratiróide. O método pode ser empregado para aumentar a rigidez ou tenacidade de osso em um sítio de trauma em potencial ou real, tal como o quadril ou espinha de uma pessoa com risco de osteoporose ou sofrendo de osteoporose. O método da invenção pode reduzir a incidência de fratura vertebral, reduzir a incidência de fraturas vertebrais múltiplas, reduzir a severidade da fratura vertebral e/ou reduzir a incidência de fratura não-vertebral.
