Método para o tratamento de pacientes humanos com estado hipercoagulável adquirido ou deficiência de proteína C adquirida associados com sepse, purpura fulminans, sepse meningocócica, transplante de medula óssea e outros transplantes, queimaduras severas, gravidez, grande cirurgia, trauma severo ou ARDS, que compreende administrar proteína C ativada oferecendo um agente terapêutico altamente seletivo com um potencial baixo para causar complicações de sangramento.
