Abstract
"MÉTODO PARA PRODUZIR GLICOL EM UM SISTEMA DE REATOR ADIABÁTICO". Um método para produzir glicol em um sistema de reator adiabático incluindo alimentar água e um epóxido em pelo menos um reator adiabático sob condições tais que epóxido e a água reajam para formar uma corrente de produto de glicol. o reator adiabático contém um leito de catalisador que passa por entumecimento durante sua vida útil, e o reator adiabático opera sob condições suficientes para reduzir a taxa de entumecimento de catalisador em relação a um sistema de reator não adiabático. Outros aspectos da invenção incluem a combinação de dividir a alimentação entre múltiplos reatores adiabáticos em combinação com a troca cruzada de calor entre alimentações e produtos com trocadores de calor, tal que um processo energeticamente eficiente que proveja longa estabilidade de catalisador e mínimo entumecimento de catalisador resulte.
