A invenção refere-se a um processo para a produção de derivados (hetero) aromáticos N-acilados de hidroxilamina de fórmula (I): onde os substituintes, o anel de átomos e o índice têm os significados dados na descrição, por hidrogenação de um nitro-composto (hetero) aromático de fórmula geral (II): na presença de um catalisador de hidrogenação.
