Abstract
Patente de Invenção: "COMPOSIÇÕES FARMACÊUTICAS CONTENDO LISOSTAFINA SOZINHA OU EM COMBINAÇÃO COM UM ANTIBIÓTICO PARA O TRATAMENTO DE INFECÇÕES POR ESTAFILOCÓCICO" . Demonstrou-se que a lisostafina é um agente anti-estafilocócico poderoso apropriado para a administração parenteral em mamíferos, incluindo seres humanos. Dosagens pequenas, na ordem de 0,5 a 45 mg/kg/dia, são suficientes para erradicar a maioria das infecções por estafilocócico. A lisostafina também é efetiva contra bactérias desse tipo que desenvolveram resistência aos antibióticos convencionais tais como as penicilinas e a vancomicina. Os análogos da lisostafina, tais como variantes e enzimas relacionadas, apresentam atividade similar.
