A invenção fornece composições depilatórias compostas de : (a) fase aquosa contínua; (b) agente depilatório; e (c) fase oleosa composta de (i) óleo não polar separada da fase aquosa contínua por uma fase bicamada contendo (ii) tensoativo; e (iii) substância polar ; em que a composição é substancialmente livre de aminas terciárias; processos para sua preparação; e seu uso na degradação da ceratina do cabelo.
